Cannabis Science Develops Pain Patches for Fibromyalgia Patients

Cannabis Science Develops Pain Patches for Fibromyalgia Patients

Cannabis Science, a company specialized in the development of cannabis-based therapeutics, recently announced the development of two new medications for pain relief in people with fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy nerve pain.

The two new pharmaceutical pain relievers will be marketed as transdermal adhesive patches that deliver a certain dose of medication into the bloodstream by absorption through the patient’s skin.

Transdermal drug delivery routes have the potential to promote healing of an injured area of the body. This delivery method can be superior to other types of medication delivery, including oral, topical, intravenous, intramuscular, and others, because of the additional control over the dose administered to the patient.

The patch provides a more controlled release of the medication, either through using a porous membrane to let the medication be absorbed gradually by the skin, or through embedding thin layers of the medicine in the adhesive that melt with the patient’s body heat.

Cannabinoids have an extensive record of medicinal applications, dating back thousands of years. Currently, a number of peer-reviewed scientific publications are documenting the underlying biochemical pathways that cannabinoids modulate.

These patches will contain high potency cannabinoid (CBD) extract, the second major cannabinoid in marijuana after THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). The extract slowly enters the bloodstream and then penetrates a patient’s central nervous system to act as a pain reliever.

CBD has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties with no known psychoactive effects. Research has shown that CBD can be an effective treatment for many types of pain, particularly inflammatory pain. Some studies also have shown that CBD might outperform traditional medication when treating inflammatory pain.

“While we strive to increase our land capacity for growth and facilities to produce our own product to supply our scientists with proprietary materials to make these formulations, we are also busy researching more potential needs for Cannabis related medical applications and developing the methods for delivery of these medications,” Raymond C. Dabney, Cannabis Science CEO said in a press release.

“As more states nationwide [in the U.S.] legislate for the legalization of cannabis and cannabis-derived medications, we here at Cannabis Science are focused on developing pharmaceutical formulations and applications to supply the huge growing demand expected over the coming few years,” Dabney stated.

Fibromyalgia is estimated to affect 2%-8% of the population. Patients with fibromyalgia experience chronic widespread pain and a heightened pain response to pressure.

      • VERY interested…I live with chronic intercostal neuralgia…. this could be a break through to getting back on track to being able to function in my life!!!! Chronc pain is no fun 🙁 please keep us posted on how we can get this prescription… thank you I am in the USA

        • Marion Foote says:

I’ve never heard of anyone besides myself having intercostal neuralgia . I had to give up a new farm and equestrian career.Been too long to go back to that but sure would love some relief. Haven’t slept on my left side for 35 yr!!

        • mark says:

cbd oil is available legally in all, (but one) (texas), states. most health food stores sell it for pain, among other remedies.

          • Dawn Gray says:

I was told that cbd oil made from hemp is the only one that is legal everywhere. The cbd oil made from cannabis is only legal where medical marijuana is legal

          • Mary benitez says:

Where can i get this if it’s available in all states but Texas, i live in Wisconsin…have tried everything out there resulting in all kinds of sides effects pain is only getting worse, please help, at my wits end

          • Leslie Cole says:

Cbd is the BOMB!!!!!!! I HAVE fibromyalgia after 6 months of being on CBDs my deep muscle pain is gone. woo hoo!

          • Denise Bault says:

I, too, have started taking CBD oil and I think it may be helping. However, I just read an article where the DEA has once again stuck it’s nose where it doesn’t belong. The article said they are going to classify it as a schedule 1. A supplement! Incredible! Doesn’t matter if it’s from hemp or MJ. May want to stock up if it’s working for you…

          • Erica says:

I have fibromyalgia and just started looking into cbd oil. What is a good dosage to start at? The websites I have been looking at have different milligrams per bottle 300mg, 750mg, 1,500mg, and 3,000mg.

          • Karen says:

Hemp oil is available in all states and is labeled as CBD oil as it is a type of cannabis. True cannabis oil is only available in states where legal.

        • Marney Burchill says:

Yes, I live in Canada and would love to hear any breaks on this as I’m sure it would give me some sort of quality of life back.

          • Tracy says:

Me too im really truing to get into consuming but im such a lightweight im not doing enough to get any real benefit so these patches would be a great idea for me

          • Angela Hare says:

I live in Canada as well and I am getting approved for the cannabis oil but this patch sounds alot better.

          • jo says:

I wrote to Caroline this morning and here’s the scoop:
These new transdermal adhesive patches are still under development and are not available to the general public yet. For more information about the patches, please visit Cannabis Science’s website – https://www.cannabisscience.com/

          • Alexandra Cook says:

Im in bristol with my spine destroyed and deformed, and have been WEARING 200 MCG FENTANYL FOR 1O YEARS!! I took myself off it cold turkey with no effects…I’m one of the lucky ones that doesn’t get addicted. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO FO TO GET IT!!! I’ve been praying for a way to stop famaging kidneys and liver!! Thank you and BLESS YOU!

        • Patricia Toler says:

I live with Fibromyalgia pain and it’s definitely no fun. Right now I’m getting on Fentanyl (a transdermal pain patch) to keep the pain in check because I’m allergic to Lyrica and other Fibromyalgia meds. So I would like to know is this medication available in the states and if so where?

          • Missy says:

Please hold off on the Fentanyl patches. I’ve been using these for years for fibro. They work wonderfully but if you happen to forget to change it,you start withdrawal symptoms within a matter of hours. I don’t want you to have to go through this like I have. Our state yesterday passed the law for medical marijuana and I’m highly interested in the patches. I’m ready to get off the fentanyl patches along with Norco and MS ER. Somebody keep me updated please.

          • Mandy says:

I have also been on Fental patches for Fibro. They are highly addictive & SO hard to get off off. Be careful! Look at other options!

          • L Magoon says:

I had to be on Fentanyl patches also for chronic pain related to fibular hemimelia. It was the worst 6 months I’ve known. I definitely experienced what others here mentioned regarding the withdrawal problems. Also out of the 3 days each patch lasted I might get 24 good hours. Added to that the medication eventually was causing severe depression to the point of feeling suicidal…we determined it was the Fentanyl after we noticed a 3-day pattern in my mood swings. Please be cautious using this medication, particularly if you live alone.

          • Stu V. Blemings Sr. says:

Patricia!!! Please don’t get on the Fentanyl patch!!! I was on it for four years for Fibromyalgia when my doctor cut me off of it cold turkey. It didn’t work that well for me as she wouldn’t put me above 75mg/h. It was extremely difficult to get off of. I had to keep cutting the patches down into smaller and smaller pieces and when I was done I still had terrible withdrawals symptoms. Stay away from that crap!!! Marijuana works much better!

          • Jeanie says:

CBD oil is available on line. The best one out there is CW. Just google CSD oil. You can take by drops under the tongue or you can vape it. It has helped me a great deal. I will never be without it. Just be careful and get the pure stuff. There are cheaper oils and they just take your money.

          • Jan says:

Oh plz don’t do the Fentynal (sp?)! I just weaned myself off of it after several yrs. It is VERY addictive & the withdrawal sucks!

          • M A Turpin says:

I don’t know how your Fentanyl patch is helping your nerve pain. I have 50 mcg for my spine pain and it does nothing for my nerve pain. I take Gabapentin for the neuropathy pain and smoke cannabis. That helps greatly! Would be interested in a patch for that pain, too.

          • Cindy McBride says:

Patricia, I agree w/Missy, Mandy, L.Magoon and Stu about being very careful w/Fentanyl patches especially if you’ll be having any kind of surgery! They make you resistant to all other pain meds so NO pain control after surgery! I was on them for about 5 yrs (75mcg in the end) but my back surgeon refused to do my surgery until I was off them, took me about 2 months to wean off and it was horrible!! But I owe my life to my surgeon that made me do it, don’t think I’d be alive today if still using them!

          • Connie Plettner says:

I have been on the highest dose of the fentanyl patches for over 15yrs and I’m also on the gabapentin (900mg) can’t say either one is great and does but with the pain but not much I’m hoping the new cannabis patches work much better. And like I’m allergic to so many of the other meds out there

          • Terri Myll says:

Type in cannabis oil on Google. You can order on line. Check out customer reviews before you order.

        • martha martinez says:

wow I have never met anyone or heard of anyone with connective tissue disease.. I have mixed connective tissue disease.. positive ANA with mixed homogenous speckled pattern..

          • Jo Ambler says:

I have the same as you, plus fibromyalgia, cervical spondylosis nd pots syndrome…. these patches would be great if they even halved my pain.

          • Alli says:

I too was diagnosed with mixed connective disorder years ago – after first being diagnosed with lupus after 2 x positive ANA, a new specialist retested and ANA was normal so he changed diagnoses to mcd and later on my GP diagnosed fibromyalgia to. I am one of the fortunate ones who responds well to Lyrica but would love to explore the canabis oil or patch. If I still lived in South Africa the oil would be readily available to me but I do not know where to source it in the UK.

          • Kathy says:

I have both and immune deficiency called Common Variable Immune Deficiency. Connective Tissue Disorder +ANA osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia + RH factor intermittent. The pain at times i can not explain. I am on 25mg Fentnal take Diluted 4mg for breakthrough pain and Merinol for sleep when the pain is bad. Thank you for sharing about depression and suicidal thoughts. It gets bad. I never had these before Fentanal patches started.

          • Sandra Wallace says:

It’s actually pretty common. My brother got out of the army and was diagnosed at the age of 24…Mixed Connective tissue disorder.I have Fibro and my mom has RA, so I wonder if these conditions tend to run in families.

        • Jeanette McLaren says:

I’m the same Lisa but don’t think it will be available in England, maybe somebody could let me know if this isn’t correct.

          • Karen says:

Im in england and i dont think its legal here but what the hell id do anything to wake up one morning and actually be able to get out of bed within 2hrs

          • Ava Freshney says:

I would love them to be available in the UK. I’m on 2 x 300mg of lyrica & 200mg SR tramadol daily & am still in sometimes severe pain & flares. Fighting depression without meds but have very little idea what decent sleep is! I’m not even sure if we can get medical Marijuana here but would kill for something effective!

          • Alli says:

Ava how do you take the Lyrica in such high doses? Is this split across several doses a day? It has taken me about 8 years just to get to 100mg which I take at night as it makes me too sleepy in the day. If I take more than 100mg at night I struggle to surface in the morning – well I always struggle to surface but the times I have doubled up and taken 150mg or 200mg I really cannot function in the morning. Just interested to hear what the Lyrica makes you feel like.

          • Tina says:

I live in the UK, and am wondering if we will get these. I have fibromyalgia along with ostiole arthritis, CFS, and so many other things wrong, I have been ill and tired all my life. All I want is something that will help me live a little, not just survive. These patches might just be the thing, I hope they will be legal over here!!!!!

          • Tim Bossie says:

Hi Lisa. These patches are not available yet. They are still in development and study phase. Hopefully, for people who are in great pain they can be made available soon. We will continue to monitor this news so keep watching our site for the newest info.

          • Rachel Offley says:

You can get the same stuff (possibly to vape in an ecig, which is certainly helping some friends of mine with Fibro pain, but doesn’t give you the high … available in the UK

          • Tina says:

Rachel Offley, what is it called that you can get in UK? Can you buy it over the counter or is it prescription only? Thanks in advance

        • Ginger M says:

I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. The patches are very safe. It’s always best to check with your doctor though. Hopefully, he/she is open to discussing this with you.

      • Charlotte Buckley says:

I too am interested in this patch. Been suffering with fibro and its not fun. I live in Manitoba Canada. Would like more info plzz.

      • Crystal says:

Im the same way. My fibro is chronic along with Ra and a couple other things I believe this could help me alot with a low dose pain med for break through pain.

    • Lou lou says:

I had one before it was a c.b.d it didn’t give me the “high” effect but the my body felt amazing I loved how I could feelnpainless but not high on a different planet . C.b.d is also in a strain called ax/D.C. N it has like 1% thc n all cbd so I’m so happy it’s going to be a more easier way of getting.i got it before it was on the market so yes I can’t wait!

      • Chrissy says:

I can’t wait either but i am in Canada things like that take forever to get here ….but i have tried the C.B.D with vapor it its a

        • Linda Jensen says:

I am in Canada. I have peripheral neuropathy. Currently taking Lyrica and morphine and ametriptylene for the pain….don’t work. I’d love to try the patch

          • Karen says:

I have diabetic neuropathy and issues with back pain from car accident. I take calmative pain relievers and Lyrica. Would love to know more about these pa

          • Elaine Maffei says:

I also have non-diabetic neuropathy and peripheral neuropathy also. How do I go about getting this patch and/or this cbd oil? Help!

          • Wanda shoub says:

I have arnold chari malformation. Causes wide spread pain. This sounds like something I would try.

          • Heather says:

There are many legal cannabis clinics here in Canada covered by provincial healthcare. You will get a legal prescription and can then buy from a number of licensed producers legally.

          • Becky DeLisle says:

I have been on fentany patch and roxycdone 30mgs plus 2 60mgs morophin pill form but I was the one to choose to stop seeing my pain doc on my own after being him for 4years and I suffer daily fibomyalgia, scoliosis, carperl tunnel, RAin, yes all of this runs in my family but the government is OK with giving methadone out legally in Alabama it does more harm getting them addicted to something way stronger but it makes ur teeth rott out I mean I don’t uderstand Why they will not pass the cannabis patch it takes everything I have in me to just get out of bed these days I simply refuse to take their narcotics bc it is habbit forming and don’t truly help the pain my pain has been going on for many years I mean I only listed a few of my medical diagnosis I mean everyday I’m in contant pain it feels like knives stabbing me in my hips if they are going to pass this law in every state but TN. And Alabama but see the government makes their money off of methadone and the pain pills but I would truly love to try the cannabis patch to ease some pain it grows out of the ground for heavens sake Trump please do something about this I have never heard of people killing one another over cannabis wake up America please never heard of overdosing on canabis please help us that truly need it

        • Karen says:

Chrissy, have you tried the pill form? its known as nabilone..it is available here, ive been on it for about 6 months or so now..

      • Heather says:

Nsw Auatralia. Chronic back pain. Not helped by durogesics etc etc etc . Anyone know if this is even considered here yet?

      • Tim Bossie says:

We are so sorry Jeana. We hope that you are able to find relief soon and that this new medication can help you when released.

    • Sonya says:

Are these patches available for Western Australia and Tasmania? Moving to Tasmania early December. Have nerve problems in feet due to diabetes.

    • Marina Leeman says:

There are two legal suppliers of cannabis oil in Sydney. Ive been told there is also one in Queensland. You have to make sure it’s the right type of cannabis though. All you need is a doctors certificate to purchase.
Having said all that, medical marijuana is now legal in Victoria.
There is a medical marijuana clinic in Sydney that are doing research. I have signed up for the trials next year. Google for info

    • Jo says:

      • Tim Bossie says:

That is a good question and we are terribly sorry for your sister’s struggle with the pain she is in. We are not sure if this patch would be something she would benefit from. You should ask your doctor or pharmacist.

      • Ginger M says:

I believe she could. The CBD patches that I’m aware of are worn either on the inside of the wrist or top of the foot, but they work on pain anywhere in the body. They need to be applied where the skin is thin, hence the wrist or foot as mentioned. If you need more info, just look me up on Facebook. I offer education and consultation on naturally-derived remedies (including cannabis and kratom) to fibromyalgia and chronic pain patients.

    • Teresa bryan says:

I would love to try this because qhat I am on isn’t working , I have fibromyalgia and nyropathy and stay in pain all day am night long. So tired of hurting and being in so much pain I live in Ohio how do I know if it is available here.

    • Terry Dadd says:

My bf makes salve with cbds. It is amazing. I have been in chronic pain for over 20 years. I have the salce now and live pain free.

    • Maralyn says:

Did you get a reply ???
I’m in NSW and have fibromyalgia
Need to know if it’s available here in nsw as need pain relief.

    • Tia Bester says:

Yes I need to know too. At the moment it’s 5:15 and I’m still not asleep, due to body aches and pains and headache. On Endep 25 mg at night, but I don’t really want to use it as I’ve gained weight and can’t get rid,off if.One of the side effects of the drug.mneed to lose 20 kg. Suffer from insomnia, oteo-inflammatory arthritis and depression.need, help, aspartame,as,I can’t handle the side effect of the prescription drugs and painkillers any more.mthis is affecting my ability to work and hold, down a job. Live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

  1. Christin Baer says:

I would like to get off of the pain meds I’m on and switch to these patches. Is it safe to use these patches along with the pills until I wean off of them? Thank you

    • Ginger M says:

Yes, perfectly safe. Also, there is no concern with increased body temperature from sun or hot water, as there is with Fentanyl patches – CBD is not psychoactive and cannot cause any issues other than extreme relaxation if the release mechanism ever would be affected. If you need more info, just look me up on Facebook. I offer education and consultation on naturally-derived remedies (including cannabis and kratom) to fibromyalgia and chronic pain patients.

      • Leslie Cole says:

CBDs are the bomb I have fibromyalgia and Hep C and 17 years of hell. started taking CBDs 6 months ago my deep muscle pain is gone I feel better than I have in 17 years I almost have my life back

      • Ann Irwin says:

Hi can I have your Fb details as very interested in what you have to say. This is a new area for me, but to be honest, I am at my wits end trying to find pain relief for Fibro and Thyroid problems, so willing to keep an open mind using cannabis additives.

      • Patricia Toler says:

Ginger M, I’m on the Fentanyl pain patch. It fails down the pain, but doesn’t take it away completely. As for Sun and hot water, I have yet to have any issues. But I would love to give the CBD patch a try. I’m b Maryland, where would I get it or how would I go about getting it?

  2. Bonnie Nordby says:

Is there evidence based research showing that transdermal CBD therapy works or is research being conducted? It would have been helpful to cite research studies underway or evidence. Even a quote from a legitimate health care provider or patient not tied to profiting from this product.

    • Ginger M says:

No, not at this time. CBD (thankfully) has thus far been left alone by anyone who would commission a study of any consequence. I can tell you that the CBD patches from Mary’s Medicinals do work, but can be cost prohibitive. Mary’s has had these patches for at least a year, so I’m not sure why this is even news…but, they do work. CBD works better once it is built up in your system, so I use it internally, externally as a topical pain rub, and I vape it. I have good sources for it, and coupon codes I could pass along. I don’t benefit financially from that, but I do from education and consultation on naturally-derived remedies (including cannabis and kratom) to fibromyalgia and chronic pain patients. If you would like more info, just look me up on Facebook. 🙂

      • Bluebird says:

Not “thankfully.” If someone is marketing and promoting a product as having medicinal properties, we owe it to ourselves to demand clinical evidence of efficacy (annecdotes are not evidence), including a placebo controlled study. We, as consumers, must not give them a free pass. There is too much at stake.

        • Michaela Lovell says:

I agree totally. This is supposed to be written in a scientific paper, by a qualified author?! Evidence should be paramount in this article. I’m not convinced, as much as I would love this to be true!!
          Michaela, a fibro warrior!

        • Janet says:

I have Fibromyalgia & CBDs DEFINITELY help with the pain. Especially the neuropathy. I don’t know about these patches, specifically. But, I’ll take CBDs over opiates any day. They are costly, and can be bought in oil, chews and various other forms, too. It costs more than marihuana or thc products because the cbd extraction process is complicated. If you can afford it, it’s worth a try.

      • Lois Hoffmeyer says:

I suffer every day of chronic pain, I am so disgusted, I have fibromyalgia, Polyneuropathy, and arthritis, I am very interested, please help me

  3. How much CBD is being delivered via the patch?
I have never yet had a single patient, out of about 300, report any pain relief from a topical or transdermal application of cannabinoid. Just because they are “marketed” does not mean there is any proof that they are effective. CBD has never been shown to relieve pain in humans, only an animal model!

    • Terry says:

Wrong… It’s made an incredible difference in my world. I’m in highest stage of fibromyalgia…
CBD liquid extract has made my life bearable.
I have cronic crippling pain. Try it see what it does for you.
If you don’t have the disease don’t judge.
Get someone that has last stages to use it 3 times a day and keep using it.
      It takes time.
Can also bring pain down from 20 to a 5 in a short time.

      • Paula Countryman says:

Terry, I am so glad for your comment. I have cardiomyopathy, degenerative osteoarthritis, scoliosis and a severe form of fibromyalgia. I’m in a tremendous amount of pain, but I do take hydrocodone 4 x daily and the pain relief (although it lasts only four hours) has made me productive again and due to my pain being addressed, my heart has recovered completely. My hope is to get off my opioids, and that we will finally receive an understanding among those in the medical field that chronic and acute pain reduces longevity and productivity. With a patch, I won’t need to take a pill every 4-6 hrs because my pain will be controlled 24hrs a day.Let us all push for the passage of the legalization of Marijuana and or CBD(no I don’t smoke mj or cigarettes) There is no honor in gritting our teeth and enduring chronic pain. Nobody should be in constant pain, nobody.

        • Vickie Hogan says:

I’m actually in tears reading all these comments. I too have Fibro,DJD, scoleosis and other very painful issues that I deal with every day of my life, and until someone’s been there, they have no idea what it’s like. If they could give me a patch that would take care of all my pain issues and I didn’t have to take so many pills in a 24 hour period, it would make me so happy!!!! I honestly wouldn’t wish the pain I’m in on my worst enemy!!

        • Amy says:

Amen! Lots of people don’t understand how difficult it is to make the decision to become dependent on opioids, but it is the only way to function with chronic disabling pain. I would love to have access to CBD or mixed CBD/THC product to give me a chance to have relief from pain without the risks or side effects of chronic opioid use. As long as you aren’t smoking marijuana, there are no real side effects or risks to using it. It has been used for thousands of years – I think that handles the ‘studies’ that show its effectiveness and lack of risk.

      • Leslie says:

What do you take? CBD oil or… ? And do you know the CBD ratio to THC in what you take? I’d like to try it again, but it hasn’t worked in the past, tried smoking and oil. Maybe I didn’t stay on it long enough – how long did it take to see results? Thanks!

      • Shannon Neumeyer says:

I agree. I have tried CBD twice and it has made a world of difference.

Also, agree if you don’t have this disease do not judge.

      • Linda says:

Where and how do you get your liquid abstract cannabanoid oils? I can’t get out of bed in the morning without all my pain meds. I would love to try this oil you take.

      • Geri J says:

Terry…who do you get it from? I tried a couple from online and one local dispensary and found no relief with the oils, or creams.r I am in the U.S. I appreciate your info!

      • Carolyn says:

Your exactly right Terry. It does work. I have been having fibromyalgia since I was 15 and I’m now 53. CBD Hemp oil at 250 mg vaping when needed during the day has brought my pain level down tremendously. If pain becomes really intense at any given point because at some points it does, it’s the nature of our illness I also use the CBD Hemp Tincture drops under my tongue for added strength for this excruciating pain we live with on a daily basis. Not every day is the same. Some days are more heightened than others. Thank you so much for your comment. God bless!

Carolyn I am trying to help my dad how has fibromyalgia. We live in the uk and his doctor doesn’t know enough about this to help him. I find it hard seeing him in pain all the time. Could you please advice me where you get your vapor/oil from. I would love to try and get some for him to help so he has some life back.
Also sorry if it’s to personal are you on other meds as well as I am unsure if it will mix well with his other meds or if he should come off them.
If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction I would be so great full.

          • Denise Bault says:

Sarah, make sure you speak with your dad’s pharmacist and medical doctors about his medications and possible interactions. The pharmacists in the USA know more about drugs than the doctors. I always check with both before I start or pay for a new drug. Have had prescriptions that did not go together that almost killed me. Also paid money for some I couldn’t use, so ALWAYS check first. Good luck to you both!

      • Lorraine says:

What is “highest stage fibromyalgia”? And “last stages”?

I’ve never heard these terms used regarding fibromyalgia.

      • Pete D says:

What is the “highest stage of fibromyalgia.” I didn’t even know this was in “stages” and I have had fibromyalgia before it even had a name. (Fibrocitis or something like that.) Way back 24 years ago from a car accident. I DO know all about suffering and take a wide host of pharmaceutical’s for it. Anything that has shown proof, I have or still take. Like guaifenesin, etc… EVERYTHING. Norco seems to be the only answer. (In a pretty high dose – 8 a day.)

      • Denise parent says:

Hi. I also have fibro and arthritis. I m in ontario canada and have cbd oil from licensed suppliers. ( which i use sporatically because it doesn t help.
So , u r saying that one needs to use it on a consistant basis and relief takes time ? Weeks?

      • Patricia Toler says:

Terri – you are in the advanced stages of Fibromyalgia? How far? I’m in the advanced stages as well and its not been easy trying to manage this pain along with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis and chronic migraines (which I didn’t used to have but now I do). I’m willing to give the CBD patch a try. I know all about blind studies, double blinds and efficacy – I used to work for FDA, Division of Epidemiology and Biometrics. The statisticians and mathematicians were really great. I learned alot from them and from reading their ongoing studies as well as their end results. So yeah I would be willing to test it without going through clinical trials. Pain won’t wait, why should I?

      • Katrina says:

Hi I also have chronic fibro for 12 yrs now. In the past year pain meds are not working ( to be honest they never have properly) I have been very interested in this oil, can you tell me how and where you got it from
        Thankx katrina

      • Susan says:

Since all but smokeables were banned until just recently in MI, smoking has been my only way to ingest but believe me, it helps a lot! Especially an Indica strain called “Purple”. I would have no life without cannabis and the healing effects it has had both on my fibro and anxiety.

        • Jo Bennett says:

I live in Lansing MI and my local dispensary has MORE than “smokeables”…you can walk into any dispensary in MICHIGAN and get…cannabis in ANY form…So saying you cant get anything in Michigan but smokeables ISNOT True…if your having “Availability” issues, then its you “local” politicians…come to Lansing or better yet got to Ann Arbor…you can find it ALL…

        • Mandolin says:

I have bought edibles in Lansing. The only issue that I came in to there was that they couldnt say for sure which edibles were sativa, indica, or hybrids.
I’ve been to one dispensary in Seattle and things are better labeled. I use a spray currently and I have a muscle rub that work really well. My preference is CBD since it isn’t psychoactive. Sativa is a second choice because it helps with my pain and doesn’t leave me groggy. I am interested in the pain patches or even the tampons that are now available in California.

    • Ginger M says:

The patches from Mary’s Medicinals have 10mg. I have never felt relief from just that, but once CBD builds up, it is quite effective for me. I use it topically as a pain rub, internally as drops, and vape it as well. I have a good source and coupon codes – I don’t benefit financially from giving them out, but I do from providing education and consultation on naturally-derived remedies (including cannabis and kratom) to fibromyalgia and chronic pain patients. If you would like more info, just look me up on Facebook. 🙂

    • Nancy says:

Then you’ve talked to the wrong people. I have been able to reduce my prescription meds from 11 different ones per day to 5, fibro related are anti itch, restless leg and nerve pain, the other two are unrelated. I did this myself by slowly reducing the other scrips and replacing with a CBD oil sublingual spray. Now, I don’t even have to use it every day, only on the more painful days, usually when I’ve pushed myself to do too much.

    • Diane says:

Fibro patient here, I’ve been using a topical for 2 1/2 years with great results. Perhaps your results have more to do with the particular product, not the patients. My topical helps pain, helps restless body and also helps insomnia caused by fibro.

    • christine holmes says:

I use a CBD ointment when my pain gets so bad I cant sleep or handle my pain while awake and boy does it work!!! So Michelle, I don’t where you say its only in animals! It helps humans also! I’m living proof and witnessed to that! I have Fibromyalgia and it sucks big time, my CBD ointment saved me many of nights/days. It didn’t make it go away completely, but calmed it down tremendiously! I’m in daily pain, I manage it as well as I can.

    • Bluebird says:

Yes, are there any credible clinical trials proving that this actually is effective? I didn’t see any links to any studies. This appears to be a reposting of a press release by a company selling a product. While I want everyone to get the relief they need by the best means necessary, we can’t throw out our adherence to basic scientific principles. And unfortunately, annecdotes are not evidence of a health product’s efficacy. The study must be placebo controlled in order to be credible (because the placebo effect is strong).

    • Ash says:

I have used CBD internally via wax pen, pills and topically. I have found great relief. Some work better than others for me but everyone has a different genetic make up. I think is worth a try. And if you are afraid of getting addicted, I think the chance is minimal. You don’t get a high, your just feel better.

    • Leann says:

Rx-green patches are the way to go! They have legal true hemp cbd patches that work amazingly! Rx-green.com has a lot more info! The patches are 30mg HEMP CBD and the awersome thing is you can dose yourself by cutting the patch in half or quarters depending on your needs. I’ve used these for a few months now and they are natural which is always a plus with me.

      • Karen Pyper says:

I’m just wondering where you get your patches from please? I also suffer from fibromyalagia, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Osteoarthritis, Arthritis, Degenerative disc disease plus many more. I live in the UK and I’d be truly greatful if you could point me in the right direction even to find out more about them. Many thank’s Karen.

    • Krystin says:

I’m also in Michigan and very interested in these to help with my fibro n other chronic pains….
How do I get info on these

  4. Kelly Curtin says:

RX Green is the exclusive maker of the transdermal patch infused with Cannabis. Please check out RX-green.com for more info. No chemicals! Latex Free! Go Green! Lasts up to 14hrs.

    • Debra Gleeson says:

Is RX green only available in CO? 17 yr Fibro sufferer…31 years with Crohns. Just lost my mother to Aplastic Anemia & needless to say my symptoms & pain are at an all time level. Thank you in advance????

    • Sheila says:

Rosalie, have you checked into the prices of the patches? How does one go about finding them? I live in Indiana and cannabis, unlike other states, is illegal here. I really wish this article gave more info regarding the purchase and price.

  5. Tracie says:

With the amount of pain I am currently in. I would love some of these. Combo fibromyalgia and Lupus. Where are the studies and results? I would definitely be interested in this

  6. Denise Parks says:

I live in Michigan USA. How do you get these patches? Does doctor do a prescription. Can you explain from start to finish on how to get. Thanks

    • Sherryl Greenberg Brodsky says:

I as much as these pain patches are still in development and are not as yet available to the general public. I would just like to know if there will be any trials going forward that one could apply for. Also I live in New York State in NYC so I hope that at the time these will be available. I have had Fibromyalgia for 18 years, i also have Osteopenia ( as a result from a breast cancer medication ), Osteoporosis, and a new diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Throughout the years of having Fibromyalgia i have tried many medications as well as natural protocols not one of them of which has worked. I have tried acupuncture, biofeedback those have had no effect. I do practice mindfulness meditation which is somewhat helpful.
I do exercise in a warm water pool to get some physical therapy which is soothing but it does not last. I also get massages when possible but again the results are not lasting!

      • Tim Bossie says:

You are right Sherryl, these patches are not on the market as of yet. We are not aware of any trials, but will keep our eye on this. Glad to hear that the meditation practices are helping.

  7. shannon says:

how can we get these in Canada. I do have a cannabis medical prescription, or does anyone know how to make them. I have advanced fibromyalgia and have had 4 spinal surgeries.

  8. Belinda Lee says:

When is this available in NSW Australia as I’m on norspan and I feel this might work better for extreme nerve pain

  9. Amie says:

I am very interested in these pain patches. I live in Ontario, Canada. My specialist gave me a prescription for medical marijuana but I don’t like the smell or taste. I tried the oil but it is not strong enough. It is mostly CBDs that I want, not THC.
It is NOT about getting high. It is about getting my pain under control so I can get my life back.
    Any distributors in Canada.
www. Mettrum. Com is a government approved distributor

  10. Becca Sullivan says:

I have tried the RX Green patches. They are fantastic and work very well for my pain. I met one of their reps at a Livwell store sometime ago. They told me they make a 50 state legal high CBD patch. I use the Thc:CBD patch almost daily.

    • Patricia Toler says:

Becca Sullivan – where can I get this? Do they take Medicare/Medicaid? If not how much do they cost and where do I go to get them? I live in Maryland and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 25 years ago.

    • Sherry says:

Becca though they say you can use in all 50 states I know this information is not correct. I live in Missouri and we do not have this legal. The only way you can get one of these is to be in a legal state. I am going to Colorado on Wens and I plan on getting one of these as soon as I am in the state. I hear they work wonders and I plan on moving to Arkansas when their program is taking applications. I have a severe case of Fibromyalgia. I can not do anything without major pain and agony. The only way in Missouri to get these is to be a child who has Epilepsy.

      • Sherry says:

You can go to cannasaver.com and get discounts on herb. They have smokeables, topicals, candies, cookies and more.

You find the Legal state and it will tell you how much and where to get the cheaper stuff.. I saw some as low as $8.00 each

  11. Tracy says:

I would like to know where and when this will be available. What insurances will cover if any? Also maybe where we can get a little bit of information. I have bad fibromyalgia.

    • Christina Kruk says:

Ive been looking into growing for this purpose. Could you tell me, pls, how to go about it?
Do you use a specific strain?
How many plants will I need?
How much do I need to consume to have an effect?
Do you have compounding issues or fibro only?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
      idamama2@gmail.com Christina

    • Brian Lincoln says:

Actually just ordered them online and spoke with their sales manager. Very helpful and knowledgable folks. I bought them right off their website. They make a 50 state legal patch they ship out to customers.

  12. I was on fentynel patches for a long time helped a lot now because of all of the overdoses by young people. They are taking all narcotics away from us. I am in constant pain as I have several neuropathys and fibromyalgia together is not a good combination. Where would I be able to get these patches or be in on clinical trial? I live in North Dakota.

  13. Kimberly says:

Note this is pharmaceutical. You can use CBD oil for the natural product. Even though medical and government says marijuana is dangerous, they have patented it and have been trying to develop products that can be patented and sold for major bucks. This is how all or most pharmaceuticals have been made. They take a natural product that works, say that it’s quackery and dangerous, and do all kinds of damage to anyone trying to actually help people with such natural substances. Then they take said substances and try to recreate them with methods and materials that are NOT conducive to being in a human body! It’s all about making big bucks at the expense of people who have already been made to suffer at the hands of their toxic practices and substances, and are desperate to get out of the relentless suffering.

Just get CBD oil from someone who cares about people. (Uh, gee… can you tell I’m one of those severely damaged by medical/pharmaceutical “malpractice”?) 🙂

    • Denise Bault says:

I feel the same as you. Why take a natural product and synthesize it for the masses if YOU DON’T HAVE TO! Just more money for you know who…I’ve been their guinea pig for FOREVER!

  14. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US HOW WE CAN GET THESE PATCHES,THE COST,AND ARE WE ABLE TO BE A PART OF A TRIAL IN VICTORIA.?AFTER SOOO LONG WITH NORSPAN/FENTANYL,I AM AT THE END OF TREATMENT.ANY INFO MUCH APPRECIATED,’
Terry Iredale 30+ years Fibro Sufferer.

  15. Linda says:

I would like to know if they work for anxiety. I have suffered from it for over 30 years along with pain in my neck and shoulder from tension. Had enough.

Does anyone ever reply to these comments? I live in Queensland Australia, can we get them.

    • Alli says:

Linda, I take a medication called cymbalta, it treated my anxiety and reduced my pain from fibro and RA by 85% my rheumatologist recommended it.

At the beginning of the year I thought I would have to give up work, I kept my job and now run a small business.

      • Denise Bault says:

I took Cymbalta for a year and a half. Gained 40 pounds and felt like a zombie. Also had horrible withdrawal symptoms when I got off it. I recently read the drug maker, Eli Lilly, has paid out millions of dollars to patients who were on it and had horrible withdrawals. (No, I wasn’t one of them.) May work for some. I got off of it and felt like I was alive for the first time in a long, long time. Finally got the weight off too. Glad it’s working for you!

        • Alli says:

So sorry Denise 🙁 I had heard it didn’t work for everyone. I feel very lucky. Could do without the sweating though 🙂

        • Christina Kruk says:

I have been on Cymbalta for a few years now and even tho I can no longer work and am disabled, it has greatly helped me.

        • jo says:

Still trying to get my weight off..Fentanyl patches, Cymbalta, Lyrica…changed my diet completely, yoga, pilates, meditation….took 5 years but making it out the other side. Would love it if and when CBD oil or patches available and the pharmas & insurance companies don’t get involved.

  16. Bridget Gilbert says:

Because if the thc content, they won’t be legal in UK. Which is awful for those of us that have chronic diseases. I’ve tried all the legal meds except liquid morphine. No joy. The only relief I have is Zolmitriptan, paracetamol and cuprophen. I take turmeric capsules, which help a little, and have started using cbd oil, helps with my anxiety. Big pharma have control. They’re creating patients not curing them. It’s a sad world we live in. Greed has over taken compasion.

    • Karen Pyper says:

If you don’t mind me asking where do you get your oil’s. I suffer really bad with fibro and it’s getting worse. I hope you don’t mind me messaging you. Many thank’s Karen.

  17. Adrie says:

    • Tim Bossie says:

It is our understanding, from the information in the release that these patches are not marketed to the public as of yet. You should talk to your doctor about this and continue to watch our website, or our facebook page, for ongoing info.

  24. Karen Pyper says:

I’m really interested in knowing more about this. Also I’m interested in the oil’s and if anyone can help I’d be really greatful. As I suffer from Fibromyalagia, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Degenerative disc disorder the list goes on.

    • Tim Bossie says:

Hi SueAnne, you would have to contact your doctor or pharmacist about this right now, but we think it is only available in specific locations.

      • Steve Pinnell says:

Hi Tim, do you know if these would be available in the UK or if there is something like this available in the UK? I’ve suffer from chronic pain, I’m in the process of getting tested to see if I have Fibromyalgia. I’v been give lots of different pills to try to help, but nothing seems to come close to touching the pain yet. I’v been using Medipen & that helps, but the pain has been getting worse as the year has gone on & I’ve been sick from work since February due to this. If this can help with my pain & can get me some of my life back, it would be very welcomed. I just hope & prey that this or something just the same is going to be available for people in the UK that are suffering for crippling pain.

  30. Vicki Gross says:

I too am very interested, I live in AZ. Are they available here? If so where do I get them and how, and what documentation would I need to get these, I have multiple health issues so I’m sure I would qualify for them.

  31. Lori E Vaughn says:

I have fibromyalgia and idiopathic peripheral neuropathy. I take Lyrica and have unwanted side effects. This is be wonderful if, it works. I’m, extremely, interested. Can someone keep us posted on the progress of these patches?

  32. Melody says:

I am a fibromyalgia patient that is having to take lyrica and symbalta and still have more days in pain that out of it. When will these actually be available for prescription use in Utah?

  33. Patti says:

Will this transdermal patch be available in Canada? I sure hope so! I currently use 1:1 (THC:CBD) every 12hrs daily for chronic abdominal pain due to abdominal adhesions from multiple surgeries for Endometriosis.

  34. Dawn Marsh says:

I would be very interested in receiving the patches for severe neuropathy if I can get more info it would be greatly appreciated

  35. Karen Gieselman says:

I also wonder if it would help someone with Limb Girdle MD? I have such terrible leg and arm and back pains with the loss of my muscles.

  36. Lisa says:

I’d like to know if this is a manmade cannabinoid like Marinol. My husband was prescribed Marinol and it made him sick as a dog. Pharmaceuticals are so bad for the body!!! God didn’t design our livers to filter toxic chemicals like that.

  37. Bonnie says:

I would love to try this patch ASAP. I suffer from RA as well as Fibromyalgia. I have other ailments which involve my back, hip and legs. Every time I try an anti-inflammatory pill it makes me swell in the legs, ankles and feet, yet I can take a Motrin and it gives me some relief but of course tears up my stomach so I’ve been advised not to take them all the time.My pain meds I’ve been on is to the point of not helping anymore and I’m so limited because I can’t take codiene. I have very little quality of life and would just love to be able to take a walk, exercise someway, go to the mall. There’s days I don’t even want to get out of the bed because I have nothing I can do.Chronic pain is no joke and I’ve been suffering for almost 20 yrs. Every yr. getting worse and more restricting. I hope this patch comes out very soon. I’m in New York so hopefully it will be readily available here.

  38. Donni Gregory says:

For years now, I have been living with Fibro, arthritis, TMJD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, sciatica, muscle spasms, migraines, slight scoliosis, cervical and lumber lordosis, ankylosing spondylitis, degenerative disc disorder and other problems throughout my body including having had cervical cancer which resulted in my having a total hysterectomy 10.5 years ago when I was only 34.
My daily life dealing with my physical pain as well as my mental health issues is a complete night mare. My brain fog is so bad that I forget words and will even stop mid sentence for a moment because I cannot even remember what it was I was talking about or where I was going with he conversation. Sometimes while driving, I will finish the trip and then sit there wondering why I’m in the car, am I leaving or have I arrived and cannot even remember the trip back. I have lost control of the person I used to be and am now just getting around in a shell of myself where happiness, vivacity, full of life and energy has been replaced by a zombie that is full of pain.
I have tried all different prescribed and over the counter medications, oils, rubs etc. I have regular physio, but nothing ever really works and on the rare occasion that I do get some relief…it is only temporary and short lived.
I found out yesterday that my anti depressant and my current pain relief cause Serotonin Syndrome which has the potential to kill you. I now have to change my pain relief and I have to wait 3 days for the old drug to leave my system before I can increase the dosage of my anti depressant. It turns out that with everything else I’m currently living and dealing with, I also have this Serotonin Syndrome in the moderate phase with a couple of the severe phase symptoms. I use these Chinese pain patches from a local Asian mini mart and they are great until they run out. They each usually last me about 6-8 hours and only cost just over $5 for a box of 5. I usually go in and buy 4 or 5 boxes at a time. I have my own portable tens machine, but it isn’t strong enough for me. I’m scared that I’m going to blow up my microwave from constantly using it to heat up my wheat bags several times a day. Some of the what’s bags have been so over used that they now have worn out in places and are now at a high risk of catching fire!
I can only hope and wish for a cure or miracle that will take away my debilitating and sometime crippling pain.
If anyone in Adelaide, South Australia knows of anything new that I could try, then please contact me or look me up on Facebook as Donni Gregory (I’m wearing a red medieval costume in my profile pic)

    • Denise Bault says:

We could be twins. I had two docs almost kill me because they either gave me samples or gave me a pain prescription that DID NOT GO with the anti-depressant I was on or vice-versa. I ALWAYS check with my pharmacist. They know the drugs and can tell you not only what NOT to take with something, they can tell you when the best time of day is to take it, or to also not take it right away with something else you might be taking. Good luck and know you are not alone!

  39. Rose says:

How is this pharmaceutical possible when cannibis has “no medical value”? Of course I know it does. My problem is I also have MCS and can not use adhesives.

  40. Shannon says:

I have to take drug tests for employment in my career. Would this show up as Marijuana on a urine test or hair follicle test?

  41. Tammy says:

I’m in Ontario,Canada.I would sure like to know if this patch is or will be available to obtain here. Sooner rather than later. Looks like many are asking the same question for where they live but no one in charge is answering.

  42. Jeannette says:

There are plenty of cbd topical and transdermal products on the market in Colorado. Can buy them legally as long as you’re 21+ age in most areas.

  43. Chris MB says:

I’m VERY CONCERNED for my fellow severe fibromyalgia sufferers who are reading this and considering taking any form of CBD IF you are under a doctor’s care AND taking ANY form of narcotic. I too have the worst stage of this illness and desperate to find and try anything that might be safer and will get rid of this god awful pain. I’ve tried EVERYTHING on the market and am just barely functioning but still working full time because I have no alternative, like most of us. No one understands until they spend one hour suffering like we do.

Nevertheless, Just please BEWARE! It is an enforced federal law now throughout this country that anyone receiving consistently prescribed narcotics can/will be drug tested and will be identified as a violator of narcotics abuse law if ever testing positive for anything not prescribed by your primary or rheumatoid doctor.
I’m only saying this because I read so many, understandably, people who are going to get internet herbs/oils while they’re using duraldegics and/or oral pain meds. I would never want to see someone suffering with this level of constant pain be targeted in the HC system and not have access to pain meds ever for just trying something to get relief. Just please talk to your doctor beforehand and get it noted in your file that you both agree to your trying this, whatever form it is.

I too hope and pray this is something that may work and plan to give this to my rheumatoid doc to tell me how to get and take and approve it. YES, it’s garbage we have to do this, but please don’t make your life more difficult and painful just because it’s just that.

Protect yourself! And to all of you who are not taking pain meds and under the monthly care of a doctor, this isn’t a challenge or criticism or debate about which path is best or how no one should have to cowtow to doctors. This is just reality to those of us who do.

    • Tim Bossie says:

There is no doubt that with any type of treatment, especially where narcotics are involved, there can be problems. We also urge caution for anyone looking at taking this or any other type of medication.

I’VE BEEN A CHRONIC PAIN CLINIC PATIENT FOR 15+ YEARS. THANKS FOR POSTING THE WARNING. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH. EVERY JANUARY I HAVE TO RENEW MY CONTRACT WITH MY PAIN DR. & IF ANYTHING NOT PRESCRIBED BY HIM OR MY FAMILY PHYSICIAN WERE TO BE FOUND IN A RANDOM DRUG TEST I WOULD ????????????????????????????????????????????DROPPED FROM THE PAIN CLINIC AS WELL AS “RED FLAGGED” IN THE STATE OF OHIO. BEING ON DILAUDID FOR APPROX 10 YRS I WOULD PROBABLY GO INTO SEIZURES AND OR DIE FROM WITHDRAWAL. AT ONE POINT I ACTUALLY HAD AN IMPLANTED PAIN PUMP (COMPUTERIZED) BUT HAD IT REMOVED AFTER IT ALMOST KILLED ME TWICE IN 2007. NOTHING IS FOOL PROOF! ONE TIME IT UNDER DOSED ME SENDING ME TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE AS MEDTRONICS CLAIMED IT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY. WHEN I WENT TO HAVE IT REFILLED IT WAS DISCOVERED THE PUMP WAS COMPLETELY FULL. THAT RESULTED IN ANOTHER SURGERY TO REMOVE & REPLACE. MONTHS LATER I WAS IN ICU FOR 3 DAYS, NEAR DEATH AS IT ACTUALLY OVERDOSED ME. DID I MENTION IT’S COMPUTERIZED? THE PATIENT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL SO THIS WAS A MALFUNCTION OF THE DEVICE. AT THIS POINT I DEMANDED IT BE REMOVED WHICH ALSO ENTAILED HAVING THE CATHETER/TUBING CONNECTED FROM THE PUMP DIRECTLY INTO THE SPINE REMOVED. WHEN I WAS FINALLY RELEASED I WAS HOME A FEW HOURS WHEN MY HUSBAND & I REALIZED I WAS LEAKING SPINAL FLUID PROFUSELY! NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS READMITTED FOR ANOTHER 10 DAYS, FLAT ON MY BACK. FOR ANYONE CONSIDERING THE DURAGESIC “FENTANYL” PATCH, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST, ESPECIALLY REVIEWS OF PATIENTS THAT HAVE TRIED THIS FORM OF PAIN CONTROL. THIS WAS THE WORST WITHDRAWAL I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE. I’VE TOLD MY DR.S , FAMILY & FRIENDS THAT I’D RATHER DIE THAN EVER GO THRU THAT AGAIN. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE 62 DRUG ALLERGIES WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR PHYSICIANS TO TREAT ME. HERE IN OHIO, USA THE GOVERNOR PASSED THE MEDICAL MARIJUANA LAW BUT NOW WE’RE BEING TOLD IT MAY TAKE 2 YRS BEFORE THEY FINISH CONSTRUCTING BUILDINGS/STORES, SCIENTIFICALLY GROWING & INSTRUCTING PAIN CLINICS & DRS. I’M ONE PERSON THAT’S LOOKING FORWARD TO SLOWLY GETTING OFF THE DILAUDID SAFELY ONCE WE CAN LEGALLY AQUIRE. JUST HOPING THEY SELL WITHOUT THE THC! I’M 65 & IN MY 20’S I MAYBE SMOKED MJ 5-6 TIMES FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES/EXPERIMENTATION. I DIDN’T CARE FOR IT AT ALL AS IT CAUSED ME TO FEEL PARANOID! I’M NOT SHOUTING; I TYPE IN ALL CAPS AS I HAVE MS/MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, BLIND IN LEFT EYE WITH A CATARACT FORMING & DOUBLE VISION IN MY RIGHT EYE. IN ADDITION I HAVE FIBRO, CFS, RA, OA, SPONDYLOSIS, DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE, SCOLIOSIS, PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY IN BOTH FEET & LEGS… I COULD GO ON & ON BUT YOU GET THE PICTURE. THE ORAL DILAUDID DOES CAUSE NAUSEA SO I TAKE A ZOFRAN WITH IT. OH; DID I MENTION I SUFFER WITH DEPRESSION? IT ALWAYS MAKES ME LAUGH WHEN FILLING OUT MEDICAL FORMS THEY ASK IF YOU SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION! IF I ANSWERED “NO”, THEN THE DR OR NURSES WOULD ALL THINK I WAS CRAZY FOR SURE. FOR YEARS I’VE FOUND THAT GUIDED IMAGERY AND MEDITATION MAY BE VERY USEFUL IF YOU DO IT BEFORE THE PAIN REACHES TOO HIGH OF A LEVEL. MY HEART GOES OUT TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US AS WE’VE ALL SORT OF LOST THE PERSON WE WERE BEFORE PAIN TOOK OVER OUR LIVES. MY PRECIOUS HUSBAND WORKED A FULL TIME JOB & I WAS HIS OTHER FULL TIME JOB. UNFORTUNATELY HE PASSED AWAY FROM CANCER 4 YEARS AGO. IT SEEMS HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON OTHER THAN MY PAIN DOC THAT TRULY UNDERSTOOD MY SUFFERING. AFTER HIS PASSING EVEN MY 2 ADULT CHILDREN WOULD REMARK HOW MUCH HE “SPOILED ME”! NO, HE DIDN’T SPOIL ME, HE HELPED ME SURVIVE. SORRY SO LENGTHY. I LIVE ALONE AND HAVE LOOKED SO LONG FOR A GROUP OF OTHERS WHO TRULY UNDERSTAND WHAT INTENSE PAIN & SUFFERING CAN DO TO A PERSON.

Sudan, may God Bless you with some relief and love! It helps to know you’re not alone, doesn’t it? And you’re not…we’re all here for you, whenever you need us. Take care, my friend…

Hi everyone, I am the Managing Editor of Fibromyalgia News Today. We much appreciate all the comments made so far on this article, and the fact that it is creating a lot of buzz in the community.
However, let me remind you that we are strictly a news and information website about fibromyalgia, we do not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatments.
Please talk to your physician regarding any doubts you might have about your condition.
As our writer, Carolina Henriques, rightfully pointed out yesterday, these new transdermal adhesive patches are still under development and are not available to the general public yet.

  56. Regina says:

I’ve been suffering with Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue for 12 years now & my Dr. is probably going to stop prescribing the Norco because I also indulge in Cannabis. The Dr’s are afraid they’ll get sued and consider me a liability because THC and Norco do the same thing and they say the patients are more at risk for falling. I fell over a chair nearly two years ago and broke my arm but the thought of suing anyone didn’t even cross my mind. It’d be great and we wouldn’t help the Dr’s stay so wealthy. I’m on Disability for Fibromyalgia and my ex-husband divorced me and I can barely afford to pay my bills. Why isn’t there a Discount for those with Disabilities? I get no extra help because I make $22 ea yr now and in 1.5 yrs I’ll be down to $16k per year. Where can I purchase this in Tulsa, OK? There were enough signatures to get Medicinal Marijuana on the ballet here yesterday, but we got screwed by the conservative State of Oklahoma.

  57. matthew says:

  58. Preeti Kher Dulat says:

Hi i live in India and have had great relief and improvement in my symptoms from homeopathy. I would like to know more though about these patches

  59. Amanda B says:

Is this available in Canada? I have Interstitial cystitis and I believe it may help. I already have my medical marijuana license and you use CBD extracts That I smoke or vape. Extremely helpful but I can’t just light up in public so this patch is more discrete.

  60. Kt says:

These patches are not new to market, transdermal cannabis patches have been around for decades. You can get them at most medicinal cannabis. It’s for localized pain relief.
You should try cannabis lotion or similar for widespread pain.

  61. FMwarrior says:

These patches look amazing. I can’t wait for them to be available everywhere, especially since they don’t get you ‘high’. For those of you stuck waiting try cannabis infused in oil. MCT oil is popular. Use 7-14 grams along with 1 tsp lecithin per cup of oil . Keep the heat low (220f) or less for about 4 hours. Strain with cheesecloth and use topically for pain relief without the high or bake into edibles (after determining you dose.) Start low go slow if ingesting and don’t drive.

  62. I am VERY interested in trying these patches out!!! I have been living with chronic pain for well over 10 years, and at this point, it is controlling my life ????, and I want my life back!
I take prescription strength naproxen and extra strength arthritis Tylenol, but that’s all I can take. No narcotics

  63. Sylvia Brimson says:

Are these going to be available in NSW? My GP says ask Surgeon General and they say it’s up to the GP. I have severe Spinal pain. These would help.

  64. Sue Dahlsten says:

I just ordered 4 bottles of CBD oil and now I’m anxious to try it for the foot neuropathy. The Lyrica causes side effects that may end up being worse, like causing my asthma to act up.

      • Denise Bault says:

I’m on my second bottle of CBD oil, and I think it may be helping! FYI- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again : The DEA is making it a schedule 1 drug! Absolutely ridiculous! Doesn’t matter if it is from hemp or marijuana. So stock up now while you can…It’s been on the news and I’ve seen a written article on it.

  65. This is just sad. Cannabis is now legal but CBD oil is not? What gives? Is there no compassion for people who suffer from chronic daily pain? We have enough on our plates to deal with. I hope Kratom doesn’t end up as a scheduled drug. I has helped so many Fibromyalgia suffers as well.

  66. Summi says:

Hi everyone, I live in south africa…not much talk about FM cos doesnt seem like much study on it here. Also just found out abt 2 weeks ago medicinal cannabis has been legalised here. Cant remember how long i’m suffering now. Doctors kept on testing for arthritic conditions. Just diagnosed with FM last year. Going for scans soon cos spine and hip are getting worse after a major lower back spasm couldnt walk for 1 week. Sorry to hear abt all u guys suffering I know how it feels. Life has changed drastically. I work and becos of lack of FM EDUCATION people dont really understand ur situation. Its sad cos they think its just a pinched nerve in ur lower back or a passing headache. Looking for medicinal cannabis. Sometimes husband doesnt also understand the pain and keeps on telling me to get nurobin energy shots. Maybe I just need the energy which in turn will help the pain. Not sure how to explain what I feel and how I feel.

    • Allison says:

Summi I am in SA too and I can help you with Cannabinoid products – I have used them with great success and am now pain and symptom free, plus my cholesterol has dropped to normal levels for the first time in over 10 years, my thyroid and mood have both stabilized, I am sleeping for nearly 7 hours a night (up from an average of 3.5 hours a night) – no more antidepressants, lyrica, pregabalins, sumatriptan, anti-inflamatories, HRT or tyhroxine for me – and I have energy!

If you want to email me on oracle@isdial.net I can help you obtain the right products – they do not simply provide CBD Oil they have a range of products and protocols for many dis-eases and tailor the treatment to you, your condition, your blood results, current meds etc.

Products can also be shipped to other countries if anyone else is interested.

      • Allison says:

Sorry just to add to Summi, Cannabis Oil is not yet legal in South Africa but it will be shortly. The judgement passed by the Cape High Court was in relation to the use of recreational cannabis in the home and has yet to be passed by parliament.

  67. Cheryl says:

I live in Western Australia I am Diabetic, with Fibromyalgia down from my left hip to my left foot which also has Lymphodema, I have jst recently been also diagnosed with CLL B cell Chronic Lymphocotic Leukamia, would this product be available in Perth and a help for me

  68. Dusanka Owczarek says:

I am a 65 year old female and suffer with Fibromyalgia pain to my whole body for the last 25 years. Are cannabis patches available in Australia, if so where can I purchase them.

    • Tim Bossie says:

These particular patches are not yet available to the public. You should ask your doctor, or pharmacist, about it though. We will work to keep everyone notified when this news is updated.

  69. Studies on CBD oil and pain management have shown a great deal of promise. CBD can also offer an alternative for people who have chronic pain and rely on more dangerous, habit-forming medications, such as opioids.

  70. Doyne says:

Since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2002 when I was 42 years old, and I’ve been taking synthetic opiates to quell enough of my severe neuropathic chronic pain to survive. At one time, I was placed on three times the maximum dose! Last month, I was able to finish tapering off them completely with the help of your BioCBD+ Total Body Care. Free for the first time in 16 years! I also believe that your CBDs will relieve many other symptoms that are now also being treated with noxious pharmaceuticals. Your product has truly changed my life! I truly believe that your product is worth every penny it costs. Thank you so much for your product, and your time. Doyne

  71. Prem says:

Using CBD oil is literally the only holistic product I experience any pain relief from. Within minutes my neck and shoulder pain goes away. Honestly, wherever I apply the oil, the pain goes away, including my lower back. I use water soluble BioCBDplus and will continue to use it as long as I can! I also use it in my massage therapy practice which takes my healing services to a whole new level. – Prem
